Ray Schultz is editorial director of the Chief Marketer Network at Penton Business Media. He is responsible for Chief Marketer, DIRECT, Multichannel Merchant and PROMO. A veteran marketing journalist, he is the former editorial director of 1to1 magazine, helping to launch that title in 1999. He has also served as editor of two direct marketing publications – DIRECT and DM News. Ray has created numerous online products, including the MarketingROI newsletter. Prior to covering the marketing beat, he wrote for the New York Times Sunday Magazine National Lampoon and other publications.

Beth Negus Viveiros is the Web Editor of the Chief Marketer Network. She also writes the column "Pushing the Envelope" for DIRECT magazine, and has served in a number of roles on DIRECT, including executive editor, managing editor and senior writer. A graduate of University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth, Beth is the former editor of 1to1 magazine and a former associate editor with DM News. She began her career as a reporter for the Warren Times-Gazette in Rhode Island. Other writing/editing credits include Insurance Conference Planner, ToyFare, Laundry News, Medical Meetings, Dasoku, Corporate Meetings & Incentives, the Sakonnet Times and the Bristol Phoenix. She has given presentations at events for several marketing industry groups, including the DM Club of New York and the New England Direct Marketing Association. Beth resides and works in the Boston area.

Tim Parry, the managing editor for CHIEF MARKETER, has been with the Penton Business family since 2000. He began with the company as Web Editor at FLEET OWNER, covering the trucking industry, and created the Website for its sister publication, DRIVERS, which is written for owner-operators. After a brief stint with CUSTOMER INTERACTION SOLUTIONS, covering CRM, Call Centers, and technology, he returned to Primedia Business as associate editor of PROMO. At PROMO, he wrote news for the PROMO XTRA and PROMO P&I eNewsletters and features for the magazine. His topics of expertise included loyalty marketing, sports marketing and sponsorships, automotive, and consumer electronics. He provides editorial content for both CM REPORT and CM PLUS.

Patricia Odell joined PROMO as managing editor in March 2003. Prior to that she was the news editor of sister publication DIRECT magazine and editor of DIRECT Newsline as well as the online content editor. She had been with DIRECT since 1997. Prior to joining Penton, Patricia worked as a reporter and community page editor for the Stamford Advocate, a daily newspaper in Stamford, CT. She graduated from the New York University School of Journalism.
